Gedham Gomes advises and represents clients in connection with all sorts of matters involving socioenvironmental, climate change and ESG issues. When providing counsel on preventive or pre-litigation consulting, Gedham assists domestic and foreign companies in navigating the complex Brazilian regulatory frameworks applicable to their businesses and most sensitive and strategical matters, such as those involving critical environmental licenses, contamination management, human rights, carbon markets and Nature-based Solutions, supply chains and general environmental and climate compliance and liabilities. When litigating, Gedham represents companies in administrative investigations, class actions and crisis management, particularly by conducting negotiations with opposing counsel, government agencies, public prosecutors, and other stakeholders, such as NGOs and indigenous communities.

- Major American and Brazilian companies in the environmental permitting of port terminals in the states of Rio de Janeiro (INEA) and Espírito Santo (IEMA), involving dredging activities and intervention in specially protected areas.
- A major multinational Italian oil & gas company in connection with the environmental aspects of a maritime terminal in the State of São Paulo, including specially protected areas and environmental offsetting issues.
- A major multinational Japanese electronics/imaging company in connection with waste management issues arising from reverse logistics obligations due to provisions of the Brazilian National Policy on Waste Management.
