Tauil & Chequer Advogados advised on the sale of 100% of CIMAR's equity to Polimix

Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown has acted as exclusive legal advisor of CIMAR - Cimentos do Maranhão and its shareholders (joint venture formed by Grupo Cornélio Brennand and Atria) on the sale of 100% of its equity interest to Polimix Group, part of Mizu Cimentos. Cimar and its shareholders also retained G5 Partners as their exclusive financial advisor in the transaction, which was approved by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) in February.
Known for its “Bravo” brand, CIMAR’s plant is located in São Luís, Maranhão, with a strong presence in construction and an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
The team was led by partners Carlos Motta and Daniella Raigorodsky Monteiro, and included associates Raíssa Lopez and Isabella Toledo Nalesso Santos, all from the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice, counsel Isabella Giorgi and associate Vitor Damasio, from the Antitrust and Competition practice.
